Have you lived your whole life in the suburbs? Have you ever wondered if you would survive in the hood? Well I am an expert in hood survival and these are just a few of the basic rules you will need to follow if you don't want to die.
1.) Learn the slang.
Slang is very important because you need to be able to communicate with everyone. If a word you have never heard before comes up in a conversation, you could be in big trouble. For example is somebody starts talking about yayo (cocaine) and you are clueless, that could end badly.
2.) Know yourself and your limits.
Odds are ( no matter how much you hate confrontation ) you will find yourself getting into it with somebody or at the very least somebody will try to start something with you. You need to understand that whoever is standing in front of you is probably ready to throw fists ( or shoot you depending on what happened.)
3.) Don't look nervous
You are not allowed to look nervous in the hood. In the hood someone who is looking nervous is usually up to something shady which will keep everyone else on edge. Ideally you need to look comfortable without ever actually getting comfortable.
4.)DO NOT BLUFF
This is not a game of poker, this is your life. Trust me, just don't.
5.) Earn respect
Respect is important if you want to be happy. When you earn respect, people treat you as a friend , but when you have not yet earned respect, you are treated as if you could be an enemy, and enemies die so...
6.) Keep your guard up
Have you ever heard the someone say "wrong place at the wrong time"? Well that happens a lot. Be aware of your surroundings at all times. You never know what other people might be up to, so unless catching a hollow tip with your liver sounds like fun, be aware of your surroundings.
Look, I could get into the specifics about how to make some money, and where to carry your gun, but if you follow these rules and use some common sense you should be alright.
